St. John Paul II once remarked that "it is an illusion to think we can build a true culture of human life if we do not accept and experience sexuality and love and the whole of life according to their true meaning and close interconnection. " (EV 97)
We as Christians hear A LOT about God's love. Every day, every prayer, every Mass we hear about His great love and how we are to "love one another as He loves us." Yet in all our familiarity with the concept of God's love, I fear we have lost or even worse, never even found the true meaning of that love.
If God created us by love and to love, it would follow that if we did not recognize that love, understand and live in it, then we would not comprehend the meaning of our being and existence. WE would be confused and left with countless questions about life, love, and eternal joy.
John Paul II saw this and responded. He gave us the answer.
