Faith
This life is tough.
If we aren't careful we can easily get caught up in things that will take us away from God. Whether it be sin, "harmless" habits, depression, anxiety or whatever else, if we do not have a solid foundation in Jesus Christ, we will be tossed about with the wind.
What is that anchor, that solid foundation that can help us stay grounded during the storms in this life?
FAITH.
Our faith in God is the sure guarantee that no matter how many times we fall we won't stay down. Yet, faith is as difficult sometimes as it is rewarding. We must work hard to cultivate a LIVING faith, a faith that is not defined by "happy feelings." A faith that is a solid decision, a choice to be better, not bitter, to do something remarkable, to be something remarkable. That's where this group steps in .
The Men of the Curé of Ars is not a support group where you can come to get advice or therapy. Yet, it is a group that can give you the support you need to make the right choices in life. It is not a group where we sit around a fire, holding hands chanting together either. Yet it is a group where catholic men of all ages and walks of life, sit together and discuss how our faith can inspire and guide every area of our lives. This group is not a gathering of weak, wishy-washy men who sacrifice their manliness in search of "holiness." This is a group of men who know that true manhood requires sacrifice, prayer, integrity, honor, honesty, purity and above all LOVE. It is not a group where we hold each other and "have a good cry", yet we are a group that knows sometimes, when all else fails, brotherhood can help heal wounds.
We are a brotherhood. Men who are seeking first the kingdom of God. Men who feel there is more to life than money, work and some recreation. Men who look forward to prayer and even Holy Mass. We are men who take our faith seriously, but who also realize that we need to lighten up and have a good time while growing. Men who are not afraid to say, "I'm Catholic" or "Merry Christmas!" Men who aren't above sharing a beer while sharing their faith. If you are this type of guy, or want to become this type of guy, this group maybe the one for you.
We are real men who live real lives with real faith.
We love God, we love our families...we love America...
but we also love football...and cars...and guns...and nachos...yeah...we love nachos too...
